This is a great Haswell socket Motherboard packed with a lot of features. Makes overclocking so easy. Make sure you update to the latest bios.

Con: GUI based BIOS takes some getting use to. After a couple of times there's no issues.

Small glitch after a few hours

Was a bit hesitant to order this after reading the reviews about USB port issues and possible problems with four memory sticks. All USB ports tested (including now while writing the review) and working great. Four sticks of 8GB memory installed and all is good. I needed this particular board to accomodate a legacy PCI device. The factory seal was intact, which is the first thing I inspect when receiving something like this. Not an overclocker, just needed a good solidly built relaible motherboard. Really appreciate the five system fan headers and two processor fan slots, albeit only using three/one at the moment. The mouse-enabled BIOS control is a great feature. More BIOS bells and whistles than one can imagine.

OOPS! Possibly a BIOS update is needed in regard to the USB ports? The two top ports started refusing to recognize an old legacy 2.0 mouse, and ditto for a 3.0 flash drive. However, they still work with a late-model keyboard. A 5-star rating just went to 4. The only other available BIOS is a beta version, and this issue is not mentioned in the description of problems addressed.

Update - Other USB ports are becoming intermittent and selective as to devices they will recognize. Support case submitted with Gigabyte. This board may be going back to Amazon before the 30-day return window expires. However, will a replacement be any better? Hope Gigabyte responds quickly. Rating goes to a 2. Don't need this grief! This is not their bargain-priced motherboard! It should be better than this.

Update 2 - After reading other reviews here and on Newegg, it is clear that Gigabyte will be very slow to respond and have me trying useless solutions for what is obviously a QC, manufacturing, or design problem. I have a Version 1.0 board, and one post mentioned a Version 1.1 which addresses the issue. If only there were a method to insure Amazon would ship the 1.1 as a replacement. Thank goodness for Amazon's great return/replacement policy, i.e. I receive the replacement THEN return the defective board. Will not have to pull all the SATA and any other cables included with the motherboard from the case.

New Development! Attempted a replacement from Amazon, and got this response:

"I'm sorry about the problem you had with Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD5H Z87 LGA 1150 2-Way SLI Dual LAN ATX Motherboard.

I understand you wanted a replacement for the item. We normally create a replacement order in case customer is requesting for it. However, I'm not able to that as of this moment, because this item was under review and is not available for any orders.

We will occasionally halt the sale of an item if we've found a problem with our inventory of the item, the way we're shipping it, or the way it's described on the product details page. We're sorry for the inconvenience, but these problems are usually resolved quickly and you can often find the item via our Marketplace sellers."

So, it appears the problems with this version of the board are not going without notice. I will remain in the queue for a replacement (hopefully the 1.1 version is on the way?) for a few days. When the deadline for a refund gets close, possibly that will be the only option.

Final Update: Following a great deal of patience of mine and Gigabyte, and the third RMA replacement, I now have a Version 1.1 board and it is working great. Will bump my rating from a 2 to 4. Cannot give it a 5 due to the headaches, and the Gigabyte RMA department is slow to respond. However, to their credit, they did not have me doing dumb things on the presumption it was operator error. It was relatively painless to submit an RMA and have a replacemment board on the way.

Didn't have any issues with this motherboard. Set-up was quick and painless. Fancy BIOS, plenty of ports. What else could you want?
